Sameer Singh: Co-Founder, CTO

Sameer is synonymous with AI safety, reliability, and trust at Envive.

A top expert in machine learning and natural language processing research, his specialties are adversarial robustness, interpretability, and reliability of NLP models.

Some of Sameer’s accomplishments include his research on LIME (authenticated interpretability for black-box machine learning models); DROP (developed a challenging benchmark for LLMs that requires reading and reasoning—making them still unable to beat human capabilities); CheckList (established fundamentals on how to approach evaluation and testing for NLP).

Sameer has been named the Kavli Fellow by the National Academy of Sciences, received the NSF CAREER award, UCI Distinguished Early Career Faculty award, the Hellman Faculty Fellowship, and was selected as a DARPA Riser. His research articles have received nearly 50,000 citations to date and his work has received several best paper awards at top-tier conferences.

Sameer is also a Professor of Computer Science at the University of California, Irvine (UCI).
Before co-founding Envive, he was a fellow at the Allen Institute (AI2), worked at Google and Microsoft Research, and served as a scientific advisor for several notable AI startups. He also founded Bloomsbury Inc., which was acquired by Meta.
